Kid's Ministry

Our approach is authentic, relational and missional, and our children play a vital role in our ministry.  We want them to see our faith, not just hear about it.  We want them to do what we do, not just say what we say. What we do as a body communicates more about what we believe than anything we can say.  Our children are equally important members of the body of Christ, so they work alongside us as we love and serve our community.

Our service begins at 9:30 a.m. with intergenerational music and praise.

All children are encouraged to participate in the worship time, even our babies!  During a brief transition following worship time, children from birth to 5th grade will have the option of going to their groups.  We believe in the responsibility of the entire church to mentor and minister to our younger generations.  Qualified adult caregivers and trained volunteer assistants will be leading our Little Kids (birth to K) in fun, enriching activities related to the message being preached that day - our Little Kids will bring home a nugget from the message, not just play in the nursery!  As parents, we seek relationships with all the children in our fellowship, so parent volunteers and trained adult mentors will be guiding our Big Kids Group (1st to 5th) in discussions, activities and prayer time related to the message.

On Sundays

CHECK-IN -Children who will be attending the Little Kids Room, or the Big Kids Room, will check in when they arrive at the front table, but they will stay with their parents during intergenerational worship.  Parents who wish to put young children in the Little Kids Room for the entire service may drop them off there at this time.  (Parents of children attending for the first time will fill out a simple information form.)

INTERGENERATIONAL WORSHIP - All children are encouraged to participate in the worship time, even our babies!  During a brief transition after worship, children from 1st - 5th grade will have the option to go to their classes.  Designated leaders will guide the children to their appropriate room, but the children do not have to go and are welcome to stay with their parents in the main worship room for the message time.  When the service is over, all children ages birth - 5th grade will return to participate in our discussion.

LITTLE KIDS ROOM (Blue sign)After worship, ages 3 - K will follow the leader with the blue sign to the Little Kids Room (Ages 2 and under will be taken by his or her parent/caregiver).  This age group will be given free play time, a preschool version of a Bible story read to them and/or an activity that carries a similar theme to the message being preached that day, and a time of learning to pray together.  This room is open at the beginning of church and remains open until church ends.  One of our qualified, consistent, adult caregivers will be present, along with one to two of our trained assistants.

BIG KIDS GROUP (Orange sign) After intergenerational worship, ages 1st grade - 5th grade will follow the leader with the orange sign to the Big Kids Group.  The Big Kids will experience the message in their own way through discussion, activities and prayer time.  This group is led by parent volunteers and trained adult mentors, as we believe in the responsibility of the entire church to mentor and minister to our younger generations.
